Opened in 1984, Wheal Buller Riding School is a family run business which is open every day all the year for hacking, lessons and riding holidays. Run by Janet Dallimore and her daughter Karen Trezise. It is set in the heart of the Cornish countryside with riding from coast to coast along the Mineral Tramways World Heritage Site and around Carn Brea Castle.

We are fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful open countryside threaded with bridleways and tracks ready to be explored on horse back. Hacking takes in a variety of terrain to suit every standard of rider. If you simply enjoy your riding then there are long woodland Canters, steep hills to scramble up and streams to splash through, or ride on 4 miles of golden sand at Gwithian Beach.

The Riding School is a career training and NVQ Assessment Centre and is fully licensed, insured,  Association of British Riding Schools, Ofsted and Club Mark Approved.

All lessons are given by friendly energetic approved instructors who are delighted to teach anyone from total beginners to competition riders. Teaching is carried out in the full size, purpose built indoor and International size outdoor arena. There is a full course of jumps for those who wish to improve their show jumping and for the more confident there are more challenging obstacles and combinations in the open fields which make up our cross country course.

We have a large selection of horses and ponies, around 50, both native and European that are schooled to a high standard. Many have been competition horses winning in many different spheres, even competing and winning with the British Team abroad.
